T.E.D. stockings are one of the most clinically proven graduated pressure pattern technology used world wide, which applies pressures of; 18mmHg at the ankle, 14mmHg at the calf and 8mmHg around the knee.

T.E.D. are used through out the NHS by clinicians and hospital centres across the world. T.E.D. are clinically proven to reduce blood clots (DVT and PE), to increase blood flow velocity in the legs and to prevent the damaging effects of venous pooling during your travels.

It is really important to measure you leg correctly with a measuring tape to assure that the appropriate pressure pattern is applied. Measurements to determine your correct SKU:

1. Measure the circumference of your calf at its greatest thickness.

2. Measure length from the crease behind the knee to the base of the heel.

The T.E.D. Continued Care range is an extension outside of hospitals for the duration of your long-haul travel where you find yourself not moving for more than 3 hours. Research shows us that there is high‐certainty evidence that airline passengers can expect a substantial reduction in the incidence of symptomless DVT and low‐certainty evidence that leg oedema is reduced if they wear compression stockings.

TED Stocking Contraindications:

Any condition in which stockings would interfere, such as (a) dermatitis, (b) recent vessel surgery, (c) gangrene, (d) recent skin graft

Severe vascular disease, hardening of arteries "arteriosclerosis" that causes poor circulation

Significant lower limb swelling or oedema or pulmonary oedema with congestive heart failure

Severe deformity of the lower limbs.

Any change in body weight then you would need to remeasure your leg size.

These stockings are made of the best quality strong nylon microfibre fabric and have a seamless design that make them easy to wear and comfortable for prolonged use. These stockings are latex free and are suitable to wear by both men and women comfortably. 

Properly sized stockings are essential in order to maintain durability, comfort, graduated pressure functionality and support.

TED boxes are 19.5cm X 14cm X 2cm.

Each purchase of the TED Stockings includes the TED box with a pair of anti-embolism stockings together with a User Information Sheet.

Keep free of ointments, oils, lanolin and substances that deteriorate elastic. Keep stored in a cool environment when not in use.

With correct care stockings last 2-3 months (approximately 30 washes) thereafter they may loose the compression benefit.  

Instructions for laundering:

Normal washing procedures may be used with either hand washed or machine washed with cold water using a delicate cycle.

Hang or lay flat to air dry

Avoid chloric bleach

TED Stocking Fitting Guide 

A. insert hand into stocking as far as the heel pocket.

B. Grasp center of heel pocket and turn stocking inside out to heel area.

C. Position stocking over foot and heel, be sure the heel is entered in heel pocket.

D. Pull a few centimeters (cms) of the stocking up around ankle and calf.

E. Continue pulling the stocking up the leg. The stitch change (change in fabric sheerness) should fall between 3 to 5 cms below the bend of the knee.
